Dale Westrom, MD, PhD, is a skilled dermatologist at Redwood Empire Dermatology in Santa Rosa and Oakmont, California.

 

Dr. Westrom grew up in Sonoma County and has practiced dermatology in Santa Rosa since 1988. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis, receiving a PhD in Parasitology from the University of California at Berkeley. He earned his medical degree, with honors, from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Westrom completed his dermatology residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco and has been board-certified in dermatology since 1985. He is committed to training, research, and teaching in tropical medicine, especially related to skin diseases.

Dr. Westrom has been awarded several major academic honors, including Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Merck Award for Medicine, Teacher of the Year at UCSF's Department of Dermatology, and a Special Recognition Award for his outstanding contribution as a clinical professor of dermatology. He was also recognized as one of the top 500 physicians in the San Francisco Bay Area by San Francisco Magazine. Dr. Westrom is published in many papers and journals, presenting his work at local, regional, and national meetings.

His medical and scientific affiliations include The American Academy of Dermatology and the Sonoma County Medical Association. Dr. Westrom also served as president of the Northern California Dermatology Society. He is on the medical staff of Sutter Hospital and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Touro Medical School in Vallejo, California.

Dr. Westrom thoroughly enjoys practicing medical, pediatric, geriatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He also has a particular interest in psoriasis education and treatment. He looks forward to welcoming new and returning patients.
