IPL PHOTOREJUVENATION
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is a safe, non-invasive light treatment that  is used to correct a variety of skin conditions, such as facial skin imperfections, the signs of sun damage, freckles, “liver spots”, and other blemishes. 

Before the procedure a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. During the procedure a cold gel is applied to the area and pulses of light are applied.   You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band.

• Procedure is usually done within one-half hour
• After treatment, a minority of patients may experience a “sun burn” like effect or swelling for 24-48 hours.  Most patients get some areas of temporary darker brown “freckles” for one week which then exfoliate 
• Makeup may be applied immediately
• Recommended to avoid sun exposure before and after treatment for maximum results and reduction of potential side effects
• Depending on condition of your skin, a series of 4-6 treatments may be recommended

V-BEAM PULSED DYE LASER
V-Beam is designed for the treatment of broken capillaries and redness of the face and/or neck due to rosacea, sun damage or fair skin.  It may also help some scars or stretch marks.

The V-Beam pulsed dye laser delivers intense but gentle bursts of light into selectively targeted areas of the skin.  The light is absorbed specifically by blood vessels in the dermis, while not interfering with the normal skin.

• Procedure is usually done in one-half hour or less
• Topical numbing offered, though not necessary
• Patient may experience redness or mild swelling in the treated area immediately following treatment.  This usually goes away within a few hours
• Recommended to avoid sun exposure before and after treatment for maximum results and reduction of potential side effects
• Makeup may be applied immediately
• Excellent results can be achieved after one treatment, but some patients may benefit from additional treatments.

DOT LASER SKIN REJUVENATION
DOT therapy (Dermal Optical Thermolysis) is a new and exciting way to reverse the appearance of aged or sun-damaged skin.  It smoothes wrinkles, tightens the skin, and reduces the appearance of acne and other scars.  DOT therapy is designed to improve the skin’s texture and tone and to reverse fine lines, deep wrinkles, and acne scars.

During the procedure, the doctor will apply a pattern of tiny scanned pulses of laser energy to your skin.  The DOT therapy laser creates thousands of microscopic holes (DOT’s) in your skin, which induce some immediate skin tightening and stimulate continued new collagen growth over 3 months or so.

• Procedure is performed in one hour or less
• Topical plus injection numbing is provided for comfort
• After treatment, skin will be red, similar to a sunburn
• Make-up may be applied after one week
• Excellent results can be achieved after one treatment, but patients with severe wrinkles or scars may benefit from additional treatments.
• Most commonly treated areas include the face, neck, chest, or hands
• Recommended to avoid sun exposure before and after treatment for maximum results and reduction of potential side effects

LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser hair removal is a safe, effective solution to unwanted hair.  The LightSheer laser is specially designed to remove unwanted, pigmented (brown) hair faster, with less discomfort and more reliability than other methods.

The laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles.  During the procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, long enough to heat up the hair and significantly impede the follicle's ability to re-grow.  This process also treats numerous hair follicles simutaneously, effectively treating large areas quickly.

• Treatment lasts anywhere from a few minutes to an hour
• Appearance of the treated area may include redness and swelling around the hair follicle
• Patients return to normal activity immediately folliwng treatment
• Hair in the active growth phase (anagen) are most affected by the laser.  As all hairs are not in this phase at the same time.  A series of 3-6 treatments will be necessary to achieve the best results.
• Avoid waxing, plucking, threading for at least two weeks prior to treatment.
   

Vein Sclerotherapy
For treatment of small superficial blood vessels "spider veins" that appear red or blue in the skin. They commonly occur on the legs, but are also found on the face and other areas of the body.

A saline solution is injected directly into the blood vessel with a a very fine needle. Over a period of weeks, the vessel turns into scar tissue that fades, eventually becoming barely noticeable.

Wearing support hose for three days after treatment is recommended.

Botulinum Toxin
Years of squinting, concentrating, or frowning can cause your skin to furrow and crease.  As time passes your skin becomes less elastic and those moderate to severe frown lines between your brows remain…even when your muscles aren’t concentrating.

These medicines are injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and other areas at the expertise of your dermatologist.  It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles.  This temporarily reduces muscle activity that causes those lines to form between the brows.
